The talks were held to resolve the 22-month-long standoff at some places of conflict in eastern Ladakh. Regarding this meeting, the Indian Army has now issued its statement saying that, both sides carried forward their discussions of the 14th round held on 12 January to resolve the relevant issues along the LAC in the western sector. In this meeting, India and the Chinese side exchanged ideas in detail to end the deadlock at the remaining places soon.
The military said that China has agreed to continue talks through military and diplomatic channels to reach an acceptable solution to the remaining issues at the earliest. Simultaneously, the Chinese side affirmed that such a proposal would help restore peace along the Western Region LAC and facilitate progress in bilateral relations. Both sides have also tentatively agreed to maintain the security and stability of the ground in the Western Region. The talks between the two countries lasted for about 13 hours and ended by 11 pm on Friday night.
